Update from Caird Park re access to the track for drop in sessions:

I hope this email finds you and your club members well!  As you know, with Government restrictions easing, we are preparing to re-open RPC Dundee on a phased basis, with a number of groups re-starting as of Monday and then further activity resuming from the 19th April onwards.  We appreciate there are still many challenges to full club sessions resuming, including adults not being allowed to cross a Local Authority boundary to take part in organised club session at this time.  However, I am pleased to let you know that as of Monday 5th April, individual Pay & Train sessions are being introduced to allow access to both the outdoor athletics and cycle tracks outwith exclusive use bookings!  This will hopefully make track training accessible to any individuals who live in a neighbouring local authority area (Angus, Perth & Kinross or Fife) as current restrictions allow individuals to travel 5 miles from edge of their boundary to take part in unorganised sport.  The new initiative will also benefit individuals who wish to train outwith club training sessions by making the tracks even more accessible.

For the next 2 weeks, the planned opening times for individuals to access the tracks will be as follows (it is anticipated that available times will increase in-line with increased centre opening times from 19th April):

Accessing the sessions is easy - just follow the steps below:

  1. Athlete to ensure that they have appropriate supervision available for the session they plan to attend and agree to usage policy (see attached for policy including supervision requirements )
  2. Phone RPC reception to check availability and book session time (Tel: 01382 438820.  Please note that the RPC will not be open this weekend (3rd / 4th April).  If there is no answer please leave a message and the messages will be checked regularly and your call will be returned).  Spaces are limited in each session so booking is essential!  Sessions can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
  3. On arrival, check into RPC reception and pay.  If it's an athletes first time, they should arrive 15-20 minutes before the start time to complete relevant application forms and short induction with RPC staff member.
  4. Enjoy the training session
  5. Sign-out at the main reception

I have attached a copy of the Cycle Track policies as they contain detailed information about supervision requirements and other relevant information, which individuals must be aware of and agree to in order to access the tracks.
