Once again, Ride London and British Cycling have teamed up to offer affiliated clubs the chance to enter 4 person team(s) for the Ride London 100 event in August. All the details are in the link, click here

The entries open on 25th March and we can enter multiple teams if there is demand. There is then a ballot for the 300 team places. At this stage we just need to know how many teams to enter for the ballot and whether they are 4 male, 4 female or mixed team. Once the number of teams allocated in the ballot is known we can work out who gets the places if demand is high. All team members must be members of British Cycling.

If you are interetsed in joining a team then let Graeme Carruthers know by 25th March (email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

The Club clothing shop is open for orders until March 24th, the link is https://shop.vergesport.com/ir-en/account/login
The usual password as before, if you need a reminder or first time shopper, drop me a message. For sizing, see the size chart on the Verge web site. Also, if there is something in the main Verge product line that is not in the shop let me know and can get it added. Any problems let me know.

Congratulations to Andy Abel who was the winner in the draw for the weekend for 2 in the Spectacular Villa in Spain.

Looking forward to hearing all about it.

The Reliability Season will soon be upon once again. For some of us this will be a repeat of the last X years, but for those of you who are newer to the Club or haven't yet dipped your toe in the wonderful early season fun, here's what is available.

A Reliability Trial is a traditional early season challenge, a hard training ride. They are not sportives (or races), so no route markers (printed maps will be provided), no feed stops and no results. You set off in a bunch and make your way round as best you can (you need to make sure you are able to cope with mechanicals etc).

February 10th - Fife Century (Falkland),  all the details are here

February 17th - Kennoway Road Club (Milton of Balgonie), the details are here

February 24th - Perth United (Murthly ), - all the details are here

March 3rd - Dundee Wheelers (Millennium Hall ), all the details here

March 10th - Dundee Thistle (Scout Hall, Muirhead), details here

All the events cater for all abilities with longer and shorter runs and various groups so if you do a Saturday club run you can do a Reliability Trial!

Post event there is always as much food, cake, coffee & tea as you need.

They are great events for pushing on your fitness and help support local clubs.

Hope to see you there.

The annual club weekender will be to Oban (and back) on June 15-16 2019.  We have booked 40 places at the Oban Youth Hostel, cost is £35 B&B - first come first served, with paid up members getting priority.

If you want to join us then let Gillian Elliott know and pay Ally for the room. If you book a place and then don't attend you will still be liable for the room cost unless you find someone who wants it!

Payment through online banking is preferable, remember to put your name and Oban in the payment reference field. Use the same bank details as when you pay your membership online (if you need the bank details then let Ally (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or Graeme C (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) know).

The route is about 120 miles each way, but isn't too lumpy, done at social chatting pace and there are 2 cafe stops each way.

More details on the weekend will be available nearer the time.
